Library Usage PolicyPosted: May 20, 2004; updated February 28, 2008 Anyone living outside of the geographic boundaries of the villages of Kimberly or Little Chute may use the joint public library in accordance with the Wisconsin State Statutes as they are currently written, subject to current legal interpretations. Denial of library privileges may be given to anyone for due cause including but not limited to theft or non-return of materials, failure to pay penalties, destruction of library property, inappropriate use of public computer workstations, or disturbance of other users. Parents or guardians are responsible for the appropriate behavior of their children in the library. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible guardian at all times. Unattended children who are creating a disturbance will be requested to leave the library and may be denied library privileges for the reasons cited above. In addition, the library reserves the right to authorize the library staff to refuse service to any individuals or groups who are deemed to be a threat to the safety and well-being of other library users or the staff including but not limited to the carrying or display of weapons, verbal or physical abuse, or any other type of behavior which may present a potential threat to library patrons, its staff, or the building. Library staff is authorized to contact the police if individuals who are refused service for the above reasons do not leave the property. Any behavior that is disruptive to library use is prohibited.
