Help us celebrate this occasion at our Anniversary Celebration scheduled for Saturday, November 1st. We'll have refreshments, prize drawings, crafts, and activities for the entire family. Author Visit: Michael PerryMichael Perry is a New York Times bestselling author, humorist and radio show host from New Auburn, Wisconsin. Mid-Week MatineeSpend a relaxing afternoon at the movies! This month's film tells the story of an unlikely World War II platoon that has been tasked by FDR with going into Germany to rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and returning them to their rightful owners.  In a seemingly impossible mission, they find themselves risking their lives in a race against time to avoid the destruction of 1,000 years of culture. Pooches and PagesKids in grades 1-5 are invited to sign up for a 15-minute time slot to read to a canine friend. What a fun way to improve your reading skills! Afternoon Book ClubThe Afternoon Book Club will be discussing Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear. Humble housemaid Maisie Dobbs climbs convincingly up Britain's social ladder, becoming in turn a university student, a wartime nurse and ultimately a private investigator. At different points in her remarkable career, Maisie crosses paths with a military surgeon to whom she's attracted despite his disfigurement from a bomb blast at the front. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Graduation CeremonyAll who have finished the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program and have not attended a previous graduation are invited to this special ceremony to honor your child's achievement. Evening Book ClubThe Evening Book Club will be discussing Calling Me Home by Julie Kibler. Eighty-nine-year-old Isabelle McAllister has a favor to ask her hairdresser, Dorrie Curtis. It's a big one. Isabelle wants Dorrie, a black single mom in her thirties, to drop everything and drive her from Texas to a funeral in Cincinnati.
