Welcome to the Tweens & Teens page! We are passionate about connecting teens with great books & authors, encouraging reading for pleasure, and creating fun experiences at the library. If you need help, please contact the library and ask for Ms. Ann.

Summer is a perfect time to read for pleasure, and the library has a great music-inspired summer reading program called Libraries Rock! to encourage you in your reading endeavors. Registration begins on May 29 , and the program runs June 11-August 4 for eight weeks of reading fun! Stop by either location to sign up and pick up your reading logs. Read for two hours each week for a chance to win a grand prize, plus engage in classes, concert, and other shows that entertain and educate. See you this summer!

Like a good treasure hunt? Did you know there are treasures called geocaches likely hidden in your neighborhood as well as all around the world? Led by naturalist Debbie Nowak of 1000 Islands Nature Center, this class will show you how to get started with Gecocaching. Bring your own GPS or GPS-enabled mobile device, learn about the game, and even try finding a few practice caches around the library. A limited number of GPS units will also be on hand. All ages welcome.

Enjoy an adventure from the Marvel universe. After the death of his father, T'Challa returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T'Challa's mettle as king -- and as Black Panther -- gets tested when he's drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Free soda and pizza from Jet’s will be served. For teens in grades 6-12 only.

Seventeen-year-old Alice and her mother have spent most of Alice’s life on the road, always a step ahead of the strange bad luck biting at their heels. But when Alice’s grandmother, the reclusive author of a book of pitch-dark fairy tales, dies along on her estate – the Hazel Wood – Alice learns how bad her luck can really get. Her mother is stolen away by a figure who claims to come from the cruel supernatural world where her grandmother’s stories are set. Alice’s only lead is the message her mother left behind: STAY AWAY FROM THE HAZEL WOOD.

It's the season for wildflowers! Discover many varieties of wildflowers and how to arrange colorful bouquets to add beauty to your space. All supplies will be provided, and everyone will go home with an arrangement. Registration is required as space is limited.
