STEAMing with Legos

pile of Lego bricks

The library recently received two generous grants to support STEAM programming. STEAM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Besides providing a wide selection of reading materials for informational and leisure reading, the library also strives to support life-long learning. One of the best ways to help children learn is to let them play and explore, so the grant money was dedicated to purchasing Legos, Magna Tiles, Snap Circuits, brush bots, and Build-a-Road sets. Watch for Lego and creative play times as part of our regular programming soon.

We are very grateful to our sponsors for their generous gifts! The Great Wisconsin Cheese Festival (Cheesfest) funds were awarded to the Little Chute Library, and the U.S Venture/Schmidt Family Foundation funds will benefit the Kimberly Library. Thank you to both for helping the library go full STEAM ahead.

Pages in the Park

Come enjoy a storywalk along a lovely wooded path in Heesakker Park in Little Chute! The library has teamed up with the Little Chute Park & Recreation Department to present Pages in the Park on Tuesday, August 6 from 5-7 p.m. Stop by anytime during the two-hour window to walk with your family and read a children's book at page stations along the path. This year's story is The Pigs' Picnic by Keiko Kasza, and families are invited to bring along a picnic supper to enjoy at the park to complement an evening of literacy and oudoor play.
