    Storytime Rules

    Updated: November 15, 2007

We want all adults and children to have a "great" experience!

We have asked everyone to follow a few simple rules. Please don't get discouraged if your child has difficulty with any of them. This may be the first experience many of the children have in a group setting. We ask one adult to attend with 2 & 3 year olds, because we know that they may need special help to be successful and you are their best role models!

Classes are set up to last between 20 to 30 minutes. We watch very closely how things are going for each class. If the children seem to get restless and are unable to sit through another story, we will do some finger plays or songs at the end of the class and possibly stop closer to 20 minutes than 30.

If you have special needs or concerns, we will try to help if we can.

    Our Rules are:

    1. No food or drink is allowed anywhere in the library.
    2. Quiet -(during stories).
    3. Walk - No running is allowed in the library, it is a safety concern.
    4. Look & Listen.
    5. Classes begin promptly at the listed time.
    6. We will take attendance in every class.
    7. Please let the library know if you are unable to attend. Some children have been put on a waiting list because we limit the size of all classes.
    8. No Storytime if the schools are closed due to bad weather.
    9. Parents or caregivers must silence all cell phones and pagers during storytime.
    10. Parents or caregivers are requested to remain silent during the programs unless participating in the activities. Younger children are welcome in the care of the parent or caregiver but should be removed by the parent or caregiver to avoid disruptions.
    11. LET THE FUN BEGIN!
